Frank George is my neighbor with whom I have special bond. Both of us were born in the same European city met, and got to know each other, thousands of miles away from it - in Stamford, Connecticut. The German city that Frank was born in was called Breslau, and the Polish city that I was born in is called Wroclaw. This is the same geographical place, however due to the outcome of the Second World War the German city of Breslau became Polish city of Wroclaw.
So here is my dedication to Wroclaw/Breslau and Frank - we who were born in this city will always feel affinity, kinship, bond, rapport, understanding (add more synonyms if you like) with the place and each other. Frank George, retired architect, excellent storyteller and good friend.
Architects communicate through their drawings however, architectural drawings is not art. Frank is an architect with an artistic talent, his artwork is on display in Stamford’s Parkway Diner & Restaurant.
Frank in known in his neighborhood, and city of Stamford as well, as a designer of schools. Included below are pictures of four school buildings that Frank was working on.
Davenport Ridge Elementary School
Rodgers International School
Cloonan Middle School
Trinity Catholic High School
Each school is nicely and smartly integrated into the surrounding area.
Following is the interview with Frank George conducted at the Parkway Diner and Restaurant
And at the end I am presenting few pictures of the city that bonded both of us -- Wroclaw, Poland
